The Commodore 64 received two fantastic conversions of the arcade classics Pac-Land and Pac-Mania. I spent a ridiculous amount of money playing Pac-Land on the arcade machine at the Ye Olde Smack pub in Leigh-on-Sea during the 1980s, so I was delighted to finally own a copy for myself.
Pac-Mania was another superb game that gave the classic Pac-Man formula a whole new dimension. This time, the maze was presented in an isometric 3D-style view, and Pac-Man could even jump over ghosts.
Both were excellent conversions and provided hours of entertainment. Looking back, they were more than worth the £9.99 I paid for each of them back in the day.
