It’s not often I can say that a song from the 21st century — let alone the 2020s — earns a place on my list of all-time favourites. But today’s track is an absolute stonker, annd it was only officially released last week!
“The Calming” is a collaboration between Erasure’s Andy Bell and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and it’s currently only available as part of the The Crown Jewels limited-edition box set for Bell’s latest album, Ten Crowns which I’m absolutely loving.
I really hope its limited availability doesn’t stop this track from being heard, because it’s an absolute cracker — one that deserves to be played loud and proud.
